Councillor Evelyn Stone has been a lifelong resident of the community and served as Chief in the early nineties as well as sitting on Council for several terms since. Evelyn has dedicated some 35 years, plus to her homeland.

Donnie was born and raised in Hawk Junction And is the grandson of Kate Souliere. He has been retired now for almost five years and presently lives in Wawa with his wife Barb.

I was born in Sault, Michigan, adopted and raised on Wikwemikong First Nation on Manitoulin Island. The only language we spoke in the home was Ojibwe; I didn’t know how to speak English until I started school at 6 yrs old.

My Spirit Name is Wahkaybinesiik-dego (Female Thunder Bird) and I am from the Otter Clan. I am the Great-Granddaughter of a former Chief of MFN, Jacob Candassie. I am very proud that my ancestral roots are grounded with Michipicoten First Nations.

Hello, my name is Christine Lewis, I am honored to be elected for Council. A little about me, I was born in Wawa, ON lived here with my parents Christopher Laverne Lewis and Emily Judy Lewis (nee Stone) for the first 9 years of my life, moved to Elliot Lake and then moved to Winnipeg.

I grew up in Hawk Junction, Ontario with my parents Cecile Soulier and Harold Armstrong (WWII), four siblings and a huge extended family of relatives and friends. We all worked hard to help contribute to the family’s livelihood and growth.
